ONEFAMILY

OneFamily is here to enable families to deal with the financial demands of modern life. As a mutual organisation, we don’t have shareholders to pay dividends to and our aim is to use profits for the benefit of our members. Your client automatically becomes a member when they take out a plan with OneFamily.

We are now one of the largest mutual insurers in the UK, serving around one in 12 families, with more than £7 billion of assets under management and over two million members.

Guaranteed 50 Plus Life Cover Product Information
Our Guaranteed 50 Plus Life Cover is available to UK residents aged between 50-80, and as the name suggests, it can ensure your clients’ guaranteed acceptance without a medical, subject to certain limits.

Premiums start at just £10 a month and are guaranteed never to rise – they are payable up until your client’s 90th birthday, at which point they will stop but cover will continue. If your client stops paying their premiums prior to this time then the cover will cease and they will not get any money back. There could come a point where the amount paid in premiums exceeds the amount of cover provided.

Why use OneFamily?

  • Five Star Rating from Defaqto 2016
  • Cover starts from as little as £10 a month
  • Guaranteed acceptance without a medical, subject to product limits
  • Immediate cover through a quick and easy application process
  • 100% of the sum assured can be claimed if your client becomes terminally ill after the second anniversary of their policy. At this point the policy is closed and there is no pay-out on death or serious illness.
  • A unique range of information, advice and support through OneFamily Support Services
  • OneFamily Health Support provided by RedArc, including practical and emotional help if your client or a member of their family is diagnosed with a serious illness
  • 20% of the sum assured can be claimed if your client becomes seriously ill after the second anniversary of their policy. This will reduce the life cover and terminal illness benefit by 20%.
  • £250 contribution to funeral service costs from The Co-Operative Funeral care or Golden Charter with our Funeral Funding Option (if selected)

You need to make your client aware that this is a life policy, not a savings plan, and so has no cash in value at any time. Guaranteed 50 Plus Life Cover pays out a fixed cash sum upon death or terminal illness after the first two years of your clients’ policy. If your client makes a Serious Illness claim under their policy, the final cash sum will be reduced by the amount of the previous claim. If your client dies of natural causes or terminal illness in the first two years we will pay out one and a half times the premiums paid. However, if death is as a result of an accident in the first two years of their policy then we will pay out three times the life cover subject to a maximum of £48,000. There may come a time when your client will have paid more in premiums than would be paid out on a valid claim.
